Meet Sarah, founder of Blue Dandelion Ceramics.
Sarah creates beautiful bespoke and handmade personalised ceramic gifts for all gifting occasions.

Why and when did you decide to start your business?

>After finishing my Fine Art degree I starting working in a production pottery. I then began to develop of own line which I found extremely rewarding. It was then after the birth of my third child that I decided to launch my own line independently. I am now in my second year of business.

Where do you seek inspiration from for your product range?

My 3 children inspire my work greatly, I work from their dreams, interests and imagination. It’s very important that my work is ergonomic so I watch how they interact with the pieces in order to adjust the shape and size accordingly.

What are your greatest achievements to date?

I could say my greatest achievement is being displayed in galleries, online and in gift shops but quite honestly it’s when my children see my work and proudly pronounce ‘my mummy made that, she’s a potter!’

Who inspires you?

I love to wander around independent boutiques, you can find such an eclectic collection. It’s for this reason that I love gifting websites, you get to view these selective independent makers from the comfort of your living room.

What is important to you in business?

Customer satisfaction always. If I haven’t made someone smile when they receive their order then I haven’t done my job.

What has been your biggest endorsement to date you have received for your product/s

Having work sent to South Africa, Australia, Scandinavia as well as many European countries.

Why did you choose to list your products on oodlique?

Visually I find the website very attractive, along with fantastic ease of use. I find that the selection of produce is very considered too.

What has your experience been like working with oodlique?

Very friendly and helpful especially for the less computer literate amongst us!

What does the future hold for your business?

The future looks very exciting! I am overwhelmed and grateful for the lovely customer reviews. I like to work with them to create new lines, so the future holds collaborations , creativity and quality time with my children.
